I'm going to be irrelevant for a change (or as normal, depending on your take on this blog) and just post up some (mostly) 80s classics with a clear message of advice. Pet Shop Boys' early hit "Love comes quickly" tells of the unexpected nature of love and the pointlessness of looking for it, a lesson everyone learns at some point in their lives. Blondie's "The Tide Is High" preaches to hold on despite hard times in love, while Kylie Minogue claims it's "Never Too Late" to recapture a lost flame. While I don't necessarily buy into Kylie's sugary optimism (thank you college!), I still try to live by Madonna's mantra of never holding back your feelings or settling for anything less than the best (as in "Express Yourself"). New Order ask for listeners not to judge based on images, which is great advice in any situation. 
In the same hopeful vein, ABBA plead "Take A Chance On Me" (which should really be my new theme song). Lastly, Depeche Mode get a bit sentimental over a driving beat in "Never Let Me Down Again."
